Zenith System 3 Operating Guide & Warranty

Manual for a Zenith System 3 console television model L1960P9. Also available in a ZIP. Click photos for full size

Zenith System 3, the best Zenith ever. I think this covers one of the later 1970s or early 1980s models - it has a set of channel selection buttons with dial tuners instead of a digital one.

The table of contents, and model (L1960P9) and serial (8528669) numbers, which were more important back in the days when things actually got repaired...

I looked for Zenith System 3s online with this control layout, but I couldn't find an exact match (another set with a row of tuner buttons dates to 1977). A panel hides the dials used to tune the channels. Small plastic channel indicators were included, as was the style with these types of tuners.

How to set the channels... even with a working set, there is not much reason to tune in analog channels anymore. These TVs had auto frequency control, which other TVs had, as well as a color adjustment circuit.

More manual adjustment and automatic control features.

More picture control information as well as antenna tips.

Setting up the included VHF and UHF antennas and interference types.

A troubleshooting matrix (is the TV turned on?) and warranty information.
