The initial two Japanese Magic Skyrail (マジックスカイレール) sets were released in 1968. Initial sets of track pieces were also released around the same time.
The smaller of the two initial Japanese Magic Skyrail sets, it includes the Space Express 2 and a modest selection of track.

The vehicle in both initial Japanese sets, also sold individually is, a classic rocket-style vehicle with blue windscreen with two Space Express 2 stickers with windows. It takes a C battery and has a metal power switch.
The track in these early sets is all dark blue and marked as patent pending.
This is, of course, the smaller number one set and thus does not have that large of a track selection. A few different layouts can be made - anything with significant elevation is hard because there is no perpendicular stabilization.
Later on they made a support system to hold the track more stable.
Included with my copy of this set was an original leaflet for the series, showing the individual track packs and some suggested layouts.
Also included were two of these two-point sheets for Tomy's child traffic insurance - Tomy had a deal with a fire insurance company in the late 1960s where collecting six points from buying Tomy toys and mailing them in would get you child a 50000 yen traffic insurance plan paid out if the child is injured while crossing the street. I guess I still need two more points.
The smaller of the two initial Japanese Magic Skyrail sets, it includes the Space Express 2 and a decent selection of track including a four-way intersection turn.
