Bandai Mini Mini Rail For You (1978)

Catalogue from Summer 1978 showing the Bandai Mini Mini Rail range including the Action Series vehicles. Click photos for full size

I love the Mini Mini Rail for You title of these catalogues paired with the trackside view...

The left page talks about Mini Mini Rail's small size but high amount of detail and how it runs on a single AA battery. The right page shows the range of trains and some accessories from the time.

Reversing Action Series trains, the EF71 and EF65 available with passenger cars or freight. The JNR 103 series train was available in several colors as well.

Track packs, straights and curves and points and double track rail, all in the later blue style.

Crossovers, the short straight rail set B, reversers and stoppers... the hill pieces can be clipped together to fit the double rail standard. The N size batteries from previous catalogues are replaced with a AA NEO Hi-Top.

Accessories - the flocked tunnel, the single or double track bridge, stations, and a battery-powered lit signal.

A few more accessories - the whistling railroad crossing and the automatic departure station. The next page shows the track selection (and a legend for the following layouts) with a diagram of straight track relationships.

The first layout has an elevated section and a reversing loop with a few reversing rails. The second and third are both repeated from previous catalogues and include a small siding-based layout and a large mostly double-tracked layout.

Like other Mini Mini Rail catalogues, sets are not really covered... The text on the back seems to date the catalogue to July 1978. The photo of the range is acturally from 1976 or so.
