The Mini Mini Rail No. 2 Blue Train Set (ミニミニレールNO.2ブルー・トレインセット) was released by Bandai as part of the Mini Mini Rail series as part of the more refined reversing-capable "Action Series". This version of the No. 2 set with reversing loop and double-track section with crossover point arrangement was also sold with other trains like the L Limited Express.

The train in this set is a small EF65 "Blue Train" with two 24 series type 25 sleeper passenger cars. The EF65 has the running number 1025. While the train is not as long as it should be to truly represent a scale EF65, it is less squished than something like the Plarail EF65. The raised pantographs in particular look rather nice.
The EF65 wears the headmark of the Sakura sleeper express service. The train has a sliding power switch on the bottom as well as two pegs that are raised by the stop rail to cut power to the motor. The body shell lifts off the chassis and reveals a miniature open-frame motor with a worm-drive. The reversing lever is an electronic switch that reverses the battery polarity to the motor.
The 24 series sleeper cars are of the 25 type and also have fairly realistic toolings and markings.
Track in this set has bluish roadbed and clips together. The rail system has a set of parallel curves as well as two types of switches, a manual type and a "fixed" type that always sends a train straight through.
Overhead wire holders come in both single and double track varieties and the other trackside accessories like signals and the buffer stop fit into slots molded into the trackbed. The trees look a little cheap up close but fit with the idea of being a cheaper substitute for N scale trains.
The manual switch can be set so that the Blue Train heads around in a circle, or it can be set to shuttling operation where it turns around in the inner reversing loop before reversing direction in the siding. My EF65 doesn't like to push the train in reverse as much as it does heading forward.
