1978 Tomy Super Rail Catalogue

This catalogue shows the revised Super Rail Black range that evolved from the early 1970s Super Rail around 1975 as it was in 1978. The trains in blue towards the top have the regular reversing gearbox and were sold in three-car sets like Plarail and the green ones (sold as individual power cars) have coupling and uncoupling features and, in the case of the ED-75, a two-speed gearbox. Some of these trains were updated with light features in the 1980s. The opposite page shows individual carriages and freight cars available in multiple colors.

The left page explains the reversing, coupling and uncoupling, stopping, and speed-changing features of the different trains. The bottom left shows the different operational tracks and how they work. On the right are the track packs and individual accessories. The largest "A" curves from the original Super Rail were dropped.
