Bandai Capsule Thomas Collection

The Capsule Thomas Collection (カプセルトーマスコレクション) was a series of Thomas the Tank Engine capsule toys released by Bandai starting in October 2010 and running until 2013. The series featured small plastic trains with rollers underneath and sticker details. The trains have plastic coupling connectors and included a connecting bar.

Capsule Thomas Collection 1 (October 2010)

The first Capsule Thomas Collection was released in October 2010 and features Thomas, Edward, Henry, Gordon, James, and Percy.

Capsule Thomas Collection 2 (February 2011)

The second series of the Capsule Thomas Collection was released in February 2011 and included Thomas with surprised face, Annie, Mavis, Ben, Bertie, and Harold.

Capsule Thomas Collection 3 (April 2011)

The third series of the Capsule Thomas Collection was released in April 2011. Thomas, Toby, Bill, Dash, Bash, and Captain the boat were released in this series.

Capsule Thomas Collection 4 (September 2011)

Capsule Thomas Collection 4 was released in September 2011 and included Thomas, Clarabel, Duck, Spencer, Hiro, and Ferdinand. I believe this series was released with celebratory balloon/banner-style stickers, as I have come across a few from this series with them.

Clarabel

Clarabel from this series - I have two of these, one without the Clarabel side stickers, but both with the banners and balloons.

Duck

Spencer

Capsule Collection Spencer. For whatever reason, my example likes to pop apart, usually losing its little roller pieces in the bottom of whatever container it is in.

Hiro

Hiro was released back-to-back in series 4 and 5 - the faces are slightly different, one is painted while the other is a darker grey plastic.

Capsule Thomas Collection 5 (April 2012)

Capsule Thomas Collection 5, released in April 2012, included Thomas, Percy, Donald, Diesel 10, Harvey, and Hiro. Douglas was never released in the Capsule Thomas Collection.

Capsule Thomas Collection 6 (February 2013)

Capsule Thomas Collection 6 was released almost a year after the previous incarnation and was the last Thomas capsule toys Bandai would release until a series of melancholic characters in 2024. Capsule Thomas Collection 6 included Thomas, Percy, Diesel 10, Flynn, Belle, and Den and was themed after the Day of the Diesels DVD special.
