In 2004 Tomy continued to expand out their new highly-detailed and feature-packed range. Later in the year when more 2004 products had been released and Tomy started looking ahead to 2005 a 2004-2005 Catalogue was also published.

A wide variety of cool Plarail sets were on sale around this time - Tomy put a ton of new toolings into production in the early 2000s with many older trains and accessories updated and refreshed.

More Plarail sets with cool trains and big bridges... In 2004 the Motor Tomica range was reintroduced as Plaroad with new lighter-grey road and some different vehicles as well as standalone and crossover sets.

The "S" series already included a good mix of Shinkansen, traditional commuter, and freight trains with some train coming with the still fairly recent PlaKids.

The available rail selection offers just about every basic and many of the more advanced rails you would want to build a modern layout. Accessories are mostly rather nice looking updates of older Plarail accessories.

Pages 10 and 11 show some of the features of the Plarail rail standard and how accessories and track interact geometrically. A rather cool fan layout is down in the lower portion of the right page.

Check out that huge N scale train controller sold under the Tomix name... The Thomas series was also revamped in the early 2000s and had a decent range of characters, most of which first came out in the 1990s.

The only new Thomas set shown so far is a Plaroad set with green Bulgy - more Thomas sets were released later this year and are shown in the 2004-2005 Catalogue.

Some of the early Thomas-series Tomica diecast characters are shown. These use the "alpha" near-field communication system to tell what characters are present on a playset.

The wide range of Tomica diecast vehicles.

Tomica has had a wide variety of different car playsets over the years. New for 2004 were these two multi-layer sets that can be combined together.

Several types of Tomica Town buildings as well as a neat looking intersection were on sale as well as some fold-out Tomica playsets.

Other Tomica parking garages (both of those toolings originated in the 1970s I'm pretty sure) and playsets as well as a sort of intriguing marble-run style car tower system.

Tomica multipacks and vehicles with sound.

Tomica collector packs and some smaller toys like Mini Mini Plarail and Capsule Tomica and Plarail.

Tomica and Plarail books, clothing, and other home goods. There is also a note about a new combined Plarail and Tomica website.

The rear catalogue has an advertisement and a coupon for the seventh Pokémon movie, which released in Japan on July 17, 2004.
