This later 1985 catalogue is largely identical to the earlier Summer 1985 Plarail catalogue with a few new product additions.1985 was the first year of the companion Plaroad series of cars and roadway, and the cover of the 1985 catalogue features them prominently in cartoon form, a departure from most other Plarail catalogues before and after. This catalogue was printed in September 1985.

These pages carry on the information about the Plarail system shown in earlier 1980s catalogues, how sets from across its history work together and the best place to start being any set. A new large promotional layout is shown that features lots of Plaroad.

Many old-power greats and the first Radio Control series of trains as well as the New Shinkansen with Light, the only new train added since the summer catalogue.

Mid 1980s rail selection... the available range of rail was pretty good by this point.

Lots of fairly common older accessories as well as some less well-known ones like the Disney station and Jungle Cruise accessories and hard to find pieces like the lit lighthouse tunnel. This is also unchanged from the earlier 1985 catalogue.

Showing how to expand a No. 1 style set to the No. 2 passing loop and further into a reversing figure eight, or a No. 2 set into the Overpass layout or a nice larger expanded set with elevation and double-rail.

Turning the overpass set into a large multi-loop layout with two elevation portions. This layout features in a few catalogues, and has some strained geometry.

The Plaroad range, which has been updated since the summer catalogue with the largest 303 set.
