Snow Country Rail Set (2007)

In 2007 the first version of the Snow Country Rail Set (雪国レールセット) was released at Plarail Expo in Sapporo featuring a selection of white snowy track and accessories. The original Thailand-made releases included a snowy version of the J-01 Tunnel. In 2012 production moved to Vietnam and the tunnel was changed to the newer tooling of the J-02 Block Tunnel-style tunnel.

The rail set includes two circles worth of white curve rails as well as two straight rails. The ratio is not the best, but Tomy obviously wanted to include the white bridge girders, and the smallest way to do that is an elevated circle unless they wanted to mess with sloped rails.
This later production set has the Vietnam-style symmetric version of the block tunnel portals. Four snowy trees with grey bases are included.
The "classic" layout for the pack with an elevated circle is shown on the box and lets you run two trains. There are several snow-related Plarail trains that have been released over the years, and the rail will look good connected to one of the 2000s era snow sets that also have white rails.
Several other curving layouts are also shown, which I suppose give a good image of a train weaving back and forth through the snow.
