Plarail Sir Handel (2007)

First written June 2, 2026

Sir Handel is a narrow-gauge tank engine on the Skarloey Railway in the Railway Series books and Thomas the Tank Engine television series. He was originally named Falcon. Despite first appearing in the television show in the 1990s, Tomy did not produce the narrow gauge characters until the mid 2000s.

4915 Sir Handel (Motor Road & Rail) (2007)

In June 2007 Sir Handel was released in Europe in blue Thomas Motor Road & Rail packaging, also appearing in the 2008 U.K. Tomy TrackMaster range.

The three-pack release included Sir Handel and two red coaches with black roofs.

The prototype Sir Handel photographed for catalogues had lighter grey wheels, which the early TrackMaster Sir Handels really did have.

Tomy never sold Sir Handel in the United States.

I have two export Sir Handels - one dates to June 2007, around when he was first released, and the other manufactured in August 2007. Sir Handel uses the flat-type drive unit.

T-33 Plarail Sir Handel (2007)

Sir Handel was released as T-33 プラレールサー・ハンデル) T-33 Plarail Sir Handel in T series packaging with the updated Takara Tomy branding on October 12, 2007. The contents are the same as the export train pack, with two red coaches.
