The E531 series was first released on March 25, 2010 in a 9th generation box with new-power gearbox. The train has body toolings similar to previous Plarail commuter trains, with a double-decker intermediate car similar to the one used on the Double-Decker Suburban Train. The train is nicely detailed and carries JR marks and realistic running board information like many modern Plarail releases.
