My "Good" Eight Track Cartridge Collection

In addition to old rock music, I also quite like disco, folk, and other popular music that got put on eight tracks. There's quite a lot of things you probably wouldn't want to actually listen to on eight track, but there's plenty of good stuff as well

Disco cartridges

Abba eight track tapes

Abba tapes appear pretty commonly, especially their greatest hits compilations, which I think deserve places in anyone's cartridge collection

Abba's first Greatest Hits tape - this is a Warner Bros. tape that has been split open at some point and taped shut
Abba The Album on a black Warner cartridge from a period when they were using Capitol Audiopak-style cartridges
Super Trouper, towards the end of eight track's reign but more than popular enough to get a cartridge release. One I used to keep in my car

Other Disco tapes

Disco tapes from groups I don't have a lot of tapes from and compilations and other oddities

RSO release of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack in a Warner Brothers-type shell
A Night at Studio 54, a compilation in the style of a set at the famous Studio 54 nightclub. Only issued on LP, cassette, and cart, not reissued on CD

Simon and Garfunkel

Simon and Garfunkel rose to prominence alongside the eight track in the later 1960s and their albums are easy to find on eight track - in about a dozen slight variations each. Here are some of the ones I have come across

Just about the only format with a worse listenable to undesirable cartridge ratio than eight track is its predecessor the four track, but this copy of Bookends in a green Fidelipac 440 from Columbia was a nice find
Bookends in a later blue Columbia House sleeve
Simon and Garfunkel's Bookends on red cartridge
Their Greatest Hits in an older Columbia TC8 Stereo sleeve
Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits is another very common eight track that appears in a bunch of cartridge and catalogue variants
A later Columbia House rerelease - this version was released with Dolby noise reduction
  The grey PCA 31350 release

The Motown Sound and soul

Tapes from Motown and related label artists and 70s soulful music that I have come across and like on eight track

20/20: Twenty No. 1 Hits From Twenty Years At Motown

The Commodores

The Commodores released several albums on the classic 1970s black with blue stripe Motown cartridges

The Jackson Five and Michael Jackson

The Jackson Five rose to prominence during the eight track's reign with their independent careers

The Jackson Five Christmas Album - I love this version of Up On The House Top
Off The Wall, a discoy standard release from the tail end of eight track's heyday
Michael Jackson's Thriller on eight track, a club release but certainly popular enough and close enough to eight track's relevance to be found
1987's Bad, another club release, is harder to find
