Sales brochure for the Sony SL-J25 Betamax, the last of the J10 based frontloaders with easy-to-set dials. Also available in a ZIP. Click photos for full size

The SL-J25 was the last machine based on the SL-J10 and was released in late 1982 with dials in place of the more complicated programming interfaces used on early 1980s VCRs.

Like some of Sony's earlier Japanese Betas, they advertised the simple steps to use the machine - turn it on, put in a tape, pick a channel, and hit record

Showing the dials new on this machine (and pretty much only used here) for setting up recordings

The separate RM-24 remote had a jack for plugging in a microphone as well as transport controls
