In 1997 Tomy established October 14th as Plarail Day, releasing a special limited release train on that day every year for many years, with the Plarail Fan Club starting around the same time. In 1999 the yearly exclusive release for fan club members on Plarail Day was a silver 300 series Shinkansen with fan club stickers, the Shiny Silver 300 Series Nozomi (銀ピカ300系のぞみ号). The box has both of the 40th Anniversary logos on the front as well as the Fan Club logo.
This example has had the tape fall off one end, and the original expanded foam and parts order sheet are still inside. The cars are both wrapped in plastic that is taped shut. The train is only the power and tail car... it was usual for these fan club releases to only have two cars.
It is, of course, the same tooling as the 2-Speed Nozomi, but in silver with blue Plarail Fan Club stickers on the sides. It includes the two-speed gearbox of the regular release.
