Tomy Thomas the Tank Engine Harold Cargo Delivery (2005)

First written August 12, 2024

In 2005 a motorized, magnetic "flying" Harold destination was released in all major markets of the Thomas Plarail system and its exports. In Japan and the United States it was only available in a set while in Europe it was only released individually. The main plane flying base is actually based on a 1970s Tomy plane-flying toy, which has been adapted with a track section that lines up with Harold's flight so he can drop crates into waiting trucks.

Harold's Heliport (2005)

On June 30, 2005 the Plarail Thomas the Tank Engine Harold's Heliport Set was released in Japan featuring the only Japanese release of the Harold cargo delivery destination. The control on the left selects Harold's speed between off/hovering and low and high speeds, the control on the right brings Harold up and down, and the button in the middle releases the magnet.

Harold and his lift arm separate from the hanger. with the connection linking control to Harold's blades and the magnetic release.

Included in this set as well as in the American set and European accessory release is a helipad which Harold can "land" on or pick up or drop cargo off at. Also included are two pieces of magnetic cargo.

The main base of the accessory holds the two AA batteries required to make Harold spin around.
